Swansea Community Farm, Wales’ only city farm and a much-loved charity supporting people’s mental health and wellbeing, is marking 25 years of transforming lives with a one day celebration: #FarmFest25.

Taking place on Saturday 27th September, 12pm – 6pm, this special anniversary festival will welcome hundreds of community members to the Farm for a packed day of fun, music, and community spirit. Visitors can look forward to:

Donkey rides for all ages

Drumming workshops and hands-on Circus activities

Live music from local favourites Dark and Twisties and many more

Delicious food and drink from local producers

• A warm welcome from Farm alumni – past and present – who have helped shape the Farm’s journey

Since opening its gates in 2000, Swansea Community Farm has been more than just a farm – it’s been a lifeline. As a mental health charity, it supports hundreds of people each year to build confidence, skills, and community through working with animals, nature, and each other.

CEO Kate Gibbs commented on the festival, “We are incredibly excited to be celebrating this awesome milestone at the farm. This place is not only important for the local environment and native wildlife but also improves the mental health and wellbeing of local people and we have seen countless lives transformed by the positive, gentle and nurturing environment here (including mine around 20 years ago!). Our community has worked hard to make this event as colourful and exciting as possible, and we hope the community will join us to reflect on and celebrate our impact over the last 25 years.”

The opening ceremony at 12:30pm will be led by the High Sheriff of West Glamorgan, the Lord Mayor of Swansea, and Councillor and Climate Change Champion, Andrea Williams, with the Deputy Lord Lieutenant joining the celebrations later in the afternoon.

FarmFest25 is both a celebration of that legacy and a chance to look forward to the next 25 years.
