Three first half goals in the first twenty minutes of this game gave Rangers a commanding cushion to pick up a much needed away win and claim the three points victory.

A brace of goals from young Rangers forward Joseph Pelosi and a goal from Jake Simeone ensured the win.

The home side were a little unfortunate not to score in the opening minutes of this encounter when a Lewis Taylor free kick from twenty five yards out dipped in front of the Rangers keeper and clipped the bottom of the goal post.

The ball bounced out and was eventually cleared for a corner kick.

Pontyclun to their credit played some good passing football but lacked the penetration to break through a resolute Mumbles defence.

Rangers threatened on the counter attack with Nathan Logan providing the driving force going forward and was unlucky in the game not to be on the score sheet.

Respect shown before the game with a minute’s applause

Rangers held a three nil lead at the interval and were in the ascendancy. Pontyclun gave their all in the second half and made a spirited attempt to get themselves back in the game and eventually got a goal in the 81st minute.

Minutes later it took a great save from young Rangers goalkeeper Tye Williams to push away a powerful shot that if had gone in would have set up a grandstand finish to the game. However Rangers game management saw out the remainder of the game and celebrated their victory.
